About IP Address Lookup

This free IP address lookup tool uses the ipapi.co public API to find detailed information about any IP address — including geographic location, ISP, timezone, currency, and calling code. The data is approximate and based on geolocation databases which are regularly updated.

Privacy note: When you click "My IP", your browser's public IP address is sent to the ipapi.co API to retrieve location data. When looking up other IPs, only that IP is sent. No personal data is stored by FreeToolsOnline.in.

Accuracy: IP geolocation is typically accurate to the country level (99%+) and city level (60-80%). It shows your ISP's registered location, not your precise physical address. VPN, proxy, and mobile users may see the VPN server's location.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my IP location show a different city?+
IP geolocation shows the location registered with your ISP — often a regional hub city, not your exact location. If you use a VPN, it shows the VPN server's location. Mobile networks may show a major city in your region.
What is an ASN?+
ASN (Autonomous System Number) is a unique identifier assigned to each network on the internet. Large ISPs, universities, companies, and cloud providers each have their own ASN. It helps identify which organisation controls a block of IP addresses.
Can I look up private/local IP addresses?+
No — private IP addresses (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, 172.16-31.x.x) are used only within local networks and have no geolocation data. Only public IP addresses can be looked up.
Is IPv6 supported?+
Yes — you can look up both IPv4 (e.g. 8.8.8.8) and IPv6 (e.g. 2001:4860:4860::8888) addresses. IPv6 geolocation accuracy may vary depending on the address block.
