About BMP Converter

Why are BMP files so large?+
BMP stores every pixel's raw color data with no compression. A 1920×1080 BMP file is around 6MB, while the same image as JPG would be 200-500KB.
Which format should I convert BMP to?+
For photos: JPG (smaller file). For graphics/logos with sharp edges: PNG. For web use: WebP gives the smallest file size. BMP is only needed for some legacy Windows applications.
Does BMP support transparency?+
Standard BMP does not support transparency. If you need transparency, convert to PNG instead. Some BMP variants (32-bit) technically support alpha but have poor software support.
