About GST Calculator
This free GST calculator helps you calculate Goods and Services Tax for any amount in India. It supports both exclusive GST (adding tax on top of base price) and inclusive GST (extracting tax from a GST-inclusive price). All GST slabs โ 0%, 3%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% โ are available.
For intra-state transactions, GST is split equally between CGST (Central GST) and SGST (State GST). For inter-state transactions, the full GST is charged as IGST (Integrated GST). The calculator is updated for FY 2025-26 GST rates as per GST Council notifications.

What is the difference between inclusive and exclusive GST?+
Exclusive GST: your amount is before tax, GST is added on top. Inclusive GST: your amount already includes GST, the calculator extracts what portion is GST.
What is CGST and SGST?+
For intra-state sales, GST is split 50-50 between Central GST (CGST) going to the central government and State GST (SGST) going to the state government. For inter-state sales, IGST (Integrated GST) is charged instead.
Which GST rate applies to my product?+
Common rates: 0% for essential food items, 5% for packaged food and medicine, 12% for processed food and computers, 18% for most services and goods, 28% for luxury items like AC and cars.
Is GST applicable on all goods and services?+
No. Petrol, diesel, alcohol and certain agricultural products are outside GST. Essential food items like fresh vegetables, milk and eggs are at 0% GST.
How is GST calculated on a โน1000 item at 18%?+
Exclusive: GST = โน180, Total = โน1180 (CGST โน90 + SGST โน90). Inclusive: Base = โน847.46, GST = โน152.54, CGST = โน76.27, SGST = โน76.27.
