About English to Hindi Typing Tool

This free online Hindi typing tool uses Google Input Tools transliteration API to convert phonetically typed English into Hindi (Devanagari) script. Simply type the way the word sounds in English โ€” for example, type "namaste" to get the Hindi equivalent.

This is called phonetic or transliteration typing โ€” different from translation. The tool converts the sound of English letters into the corresponding Hindi characters. It is the same technology used in Google Docs and Gmail Hindi typing.

Useful for: writing emails in Hindi, social media posts, WhatsApp messages, documents and any platform that accepts Unicode text. The output can be copied and pasted anywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I type in Hindi using English keyboard?+
Type the phonetic English spelling of the Hindi word in the left box and click Convert. For example, type "namaste" or "dhanyavaad" and the Hindi equivalent will appear on the right.
Does this work without internet?+
No. This tool uses the Google Input Tools API which requires an internet connection. The API call is made to Google's servers for transliteration.
Can I copy the Hindi text and use it anywhere?+
Yes. The output is standard Unicode Hindi text that works in WhatsApp, Facebook, Gmail, Word, Google Docs and any app that supports Unicode fonts.
How do I type Hindi matras (vowel signs) using this tool?+
You do not need to type matras manually. Just type the full phonetic word โ€” for example "bhaarat" gives "เคญเคพเคฐเคค" with all matras automatically placed correctly by Google Input Tools.
Is this the same as Google Hindi Input?+
Yes, this uses the same Google Input Tools transliteration API that powers Google's own Hindi typing in Docs and Gmail.
